Dynamic QR code
A dynamic QR code keeps the printed code the same while you still change the page or action behind it later. Useful for print that outlives a single campaign.
Difference from a static code
With a static code the full destination sits in the pattern. If the website moves, you reprint. With dynamic, the code points to an address you control. Only that redirect changes; stickers, menus, and packaging stay valid.
When to choose dynamic
- Business cards, storefronts, or permanent wayfinding.
- Seasonal menus, tickets, or landing pages that rotate.
- Campaigns whose URL is not fixed at print time.
A one-off flyer to a page that never changes can stay static. If you are unsure, choose dynamic: reprinting costs more than an extra click in the dashboard later.
How to turn it on in Scanmelon
The homepage has the dynamic switch. Turn it on before you distribute the code. Destination management comes with accounts; until then you can already design the look. More about design: Features and Create a QR code.
